Our passion and experience in breeding DobermannsHistory of breeding

My breeding was born almost at the same time as the story between my wife Monica and myself, who made me appreciate this magnificent breed. Monica had never had a Doberman even though she had always liked this dog since she was a child. The thing that fascinated her most, apart from the beauty of this athletic animal, was above all its intelligence and the complicity that bound it to its owner.

The Birth of a Passion

After seeing a Dobermann Social Training Championship, I started to do some research and look at some advertisements of people who had puppies available.

I found a kennel in the province of Modena that had a litter ready with both black and fiery brown subjects. For Monica, the Doberman she had always dreamed of was a black flamed male, but surprisingly she fell in love with a brown flamed male. This puppy had also impressed me a lot with its lively, affectionate and playful character.

Without a second thought, we took him home and Eric that was his name was my sister-in-law's wedding present. Our breeder was an extremely competent person and advised us to start some education at a training camp. Thus began this adventure in which we are still involved today.

A Growing Family

After about six months, we decided to get one for me too, we opted for another male, this time however black, my Bandolero Stanco. Bando and Eric grew up together and strangely enough they also got along well.

They were our training ship for us and although incredulous, we managed to take some satisfaction even in Utility and Defence competitions of a certain level.

In 2004 we decided to take the first female Happy Lady, which I strongly wanted (I only travelled 1600 km in one day to bring her home). I started my new adventure with her and had a lot of fun, as she played with whatever I proposed and training her was a real hoot. Then it was the turn of Unika that I gave to Monica in 2005, a dog with great morphological and character qualities. With her we began to taste the first victories in the most important shows in Italy and Europe.

Then in 2008, when by then our females both had the ZTP (a character test to which some utility and defence breeds, among which the Doberman, are submitted, which establishes whether the subject is suitable for reproduction in terms of morphology, balance and character), we wanted to have a litter of our own.

After the first litter we decided to turn this great passion into a real profession, and in 2010 we took the affix with the name ‘del Colle della Guardia’, as we wanted to pay homage to the hill on which stands the basilica of San Luca, which is the reference point for all Bolognese. And the story continues...
